What is the Google Snake Game?

It's an official Google-made arcade Snake game available directly through Google Search (type "snake" to find it) and hosted on pages like this one. It features 14 game modes, customizable settings for speed, board size, colors and themes, a Daily Challenge, and keyboard shortcuts.

How many game modes does Google Snake have?

The game intentionally ignores direction presses that would reverse straight into your own body. If you're moving right and press left, nothing happens. This is a design choice — without this protection, touching the opposite key would be instant death.

Can I change the snake speed?

Yes. In the settings panel there are three speed options: Slow, Normal, and Fast. Slow is best for learning new modes; Fast is for experienced players wanting maximum difficulty.

What is Blender Mode?

A mode that lets you combine two or more other game modes simultaneously. Wall Mode + Poison Mode, Yin Yang + Portal — any combination can be set up through the gear icon inside Blender Mode.

Is there a colorblind option?

Yes. The settings panel includes a Colorblind Mode that switches apple and snake colors to high-contrast yellow and blue combinations.

Does the snake speed increase as it grows?

Not significantly in Google's version. Unlike old Nokia Snake, the speed stays mostly consistent. The increasing difficulty comes from your growing tail taking up more board space — you have less room to maneuver, not less time to react.

Can I play on mobile or Chromebook?

Yes. Swipe in any direction to steer on mobile, tap to pause, and tap again to resume. Works in any modern browser including Chromebooks with no downloads required.
